Dual Bridge 'S' Beams give excellent performance using triple bridges

In order to overcome the problems associated with fitting two sets of gauges to 'S' type flexures Interface fits three sets of gauges.

  • Excellent performance from both bridges
  • Improved off-axis load rejection
  • High 3 mV/V output on both bridges
  • Designed for Aerospace actuator applications
Dual Bridge 'S' Beam with triple gauge sets

Why fit three sets of gauges? If only two sets of gauges are used then either a compromise is made by sharing the ideal gauge position between the sets with the resulting loss of performance on both bridges or the second set is positioned off-centre and exhibits high sensitivity to any off-axis loads.
By using three sets of gauges having the primary set in the ideal location and with two sets for the second output located either side of the primary output set this will self compensate for any extraneous forces and maintain the original performance specifications on both outputs.

The results from the first batch of SSM-BSX-5000 units showed non-linearity from 0.006% to 0.021%FS, Hysteresis from 0.016% to 0.027%FS and Static Error Bands from 0.009% to 0.028%FS.
